Anthony Lee, Laura Lee and Amy Hind received suspended prison sentences at Southwark Crown Court on 23 October 2026 over bets on the date of the 2024 General Election. The Gambling Commission's report says all three had previously pleaded guilty to cheating offences under section 42 of the Gambling Act 2005.

Sentences suspended for 12 months

Anthony Lee received 10 months and two weeks on each count, running concurrently. Laura Lee received four months and two weeks; Amy Hind received six months. Each sentence was suspended for 12 months. Anthony's concurrent terms should not be added together as consecutive imprisonment.

The unpaid-work requirements are 100 hours for Anthony, 40 for Laura and 50 for Hind, to be completed within 12 months. All three face 12-month probation requirements and a prohibition, for the same duration, on using online gambling applications.

Anthony and Laura must each pay £1,000 in prosecution costs. No costs order was made for Hind. These amounts are costs, not fines or reported betting profits.

What the report does not settle

The Commission says Craig Williams has pleaded guilty and will be sentenced later. That pending sentencing is separate from the three outcomes reported here.

A suspended custodial sentence, unpaid work and a costs order are different parts of a court outcome. Combining them into a single penalty figure would conceal what the court actually imposed. The restriction described above also should not be rewritten as a worldwide ban on election betting.
