Non-negotiable controls
Factual claims must remain traceable to sources. Fabricated citations are unacceptable. Automated output is treated as unverified until checked against the evidence pack or an authoritative source.
Attribution
Human bylines identify real humans. Automated research and structured monitoring may be attributed to the BetTimes Research Desk. We do not create fictional reporter identities.
Editorial accountability
The publication is responsible for everything it publishes regardless of which tools assisted the work. Sensitive, contested or high-impact claims require proportionate editorial review.
