Terms reviewed: 4 October 2026

Casino payment methods can support deposits without supporting withdrawals. Before adding money, check the available payout route, account-verification requirements, fees and limits for your country and currency. OLG's bank-transfer withdrawal rules illustrate why a deposit logo alone cannot answer those questions. OLG Player Agreement.

This guide is for adults comparing payment terms. The examples cover OLG.ca in Ontario, Canada, and Grosvenor Casinos' English terms as applied to customers in Great Britain. They are a comparison of documents read on 4 October 2026, not payout tests or recommendations to open an account. They do not establish availability in other countries. OLG's online casino information specifies an age threshold of 19; Grosvenor's terms specify 18, alongside other eligibility conditions. OLG Deposit Methods, Grosvenor Terms and Conditions, sections 1.3 and 4.

In brief:

  • Read the withdrawal terms before choosing a deposit method.
  • Check whether the quoted time ends at operator approval or receipt by your bank.
  • Treat an undisclosed fee or limit as Unknown, not zero or unlimited.

Deposit and withdrawal availability

A deposit moves money into a gambling account. A withdrawal requests the return of an eligible account balance through a supported payment route. Check the withdrawal page as well as the deposit page: OLG documents several funding methods but normally pays withdrawals by bank transfer. OLG Deposit Methods, OLG Player Agreement, section 7.1.

The method's name is only part of the comparison:

  • Debit cards: OLG lists Visa Debit and Debit Mastercard for deposits. Check the withdrawal instructions separately rather than assuming a card deposit establishes card-payout support. OLG Deposit Methods, OLG Player Agreement, section 7.1.
  • Bank-based methods: OLG lists Interac e-Transfer for funding. Its withdrawal agreement specifies a registered, verified Canadian bank account instead. These are separate instructions, even though both involve a bank. OLG Deposit Methods, OLG Player Agreement, section 7.1.
  • Card wallets: OLG lists Apple Pay as a deposit method. Read the withdrawal policy before treating a wallet logo as a payout option. OLG Deposit Methods, OLG Player Agreement, section 7.1.
  • E-wallets: Look for a separate withdrawal entry and its conditions. This guide does not establish a wallet's availability in your country or account.

Credit-card availability also depends on the market. OLG lists credit-card deposits, while the British Gambling Commission's condition 6.1.2 prohibits credit-card payment for gambling under the licences it covers, including payment through a money service business. An e-wallet is not a way around that rule. OLG Deposit Methods, Gambling Commission condition 6.1.2.

This comparison does not evaluate cryptocurrency or prepaid methods. It should not be used to infer their availability, fees or withdrawal support. For the separate question of card transaction classification, see MCC 7995 and gambling payment restrictions.

The OLG row uses its Deposit Methods and Player Agreement, sections 7.1 to 7.2. The Grosvenor row uses its Terms and Conditions, sections 12 to 13, effective 16 December 2025. Neither row is an account-level payment schedule. Do not assume these operators are alternatives available to the same person.

Grosvenor requires the payment method to be in the customer's own name. Its terms allow a different registered refundable method when the original cannot receive a refund. Ask the operator how that exception applies before depositing through a method that cannot receive payouts. Grosvenor Terms and Conditions, sections 12.2 and 12.5.1.

Fees, currencies and limits

Separate the operator's fee from a charge imposed by your bank or payment provider. OLG warns that a credit-card issuer may charge a cash-advance fee, and that a financial institution may charge for Interac e-Transfer. The page does not provide a universal amount for either charge. OLG Deposit Methods.

Grosvenor states that it does not charge withdrawal fees, while warning that banks and payment providers may apply charges. That is not a promise of a cost-free transfer. Grosvenor Terms and Conditions, section 13.

Before using a method, ask:

  • Does the operator charge for the deposit or withdrawal, and is the charge fixed or percentage-based?
  • Does the bank or wallet provider apply a separate fee?
  • What currency reaches the receiving account, and who supplies any conversion quote?
  • Is a limit per transaction, per day or over another period?
  • Is it a payment-method limit, an account restriction or a limit you set yourself?

OLG's agreement lists a CAD 2 minimum single withdrawal and one withdrawal per day. Those are dated terms, not confirmation of every current account restriction; check the account and any later notices. OLG Player Agreement, section 7.2.

A disclosed transaction limit is not a sensible gambling budget. Do not increase deposits, split transactions or change methods to evade a restriction. If a cost or limit is unclear, obtain an explanation before sending money.

What a withdrawal time measures

When comparing timing claims, distinguish the operator's checks and processing from the transfer to the receiving account. A successful deposit provides no measurement of either withdrawal stage. Ask where the quoted clock starts, whether outstanding documents pause it, and whether weekends or holidays count.

OLG's agreement says it can usually process a withdrawal within three business days after all withdrawal conditions, including required documentation, are satisfied. Longer processing is possible. That wording does not provide a measured bank-receipt time. OLG Player Agreement, section 7.4.

No comparable account-specific Grosvenor payout window was verified for this guide. It would be misleading to rank the two examples by speed or fill that gap with another operator's timing claim.

If a withdrawal is overdue, keep its amount, method, request time and reference, then ask support which stage it has reached. Use the timeframe and contact instructions applying to that transaction. British readers can also consult our guide to withdrawal rules in Great Britain; those rules should not be applied globally.

Verification before a withdrawal

A casino can require verification relevant to a withdrawal, but the timing and permissible requests depend on the applicable rules. A successful deposit does not prove that identity checks or payment-account checks are complete. OLG, for example, requires evidence of the player's authority over the receiving bank account. OLG Player Agreement, section 7.1.

In Great Britain, Gambling Commission condition 17.1.1 requires covered remote licensees to verify identity before allowing gambling. It also says a withdrawal request must not trigger an additional-information condition where the operator could reasonably have requested that information earlier. The condition preserves requests needed at that time because of another legal obligation. Gambling Commission condition 17.1.1.

The same condition says operators should explain, before permitting a deposit, what identity documents or other information might be needed and how to provide them. That makes the pre-deposit notice useful reading. It does not promise that a verified account will never face another check. Gambling Commission condition 17.1.1.

Identity verification and proof of control over a payment account answer different questions. Read our explanation of gambling KYC for the broader verification process. Submit sensitive documents only through the operator's confirmed channel, not an unsolicited message.

Before you deposit

For the casino payment methods available to you, save a dated copy of the relevant terms and record:

  1. The operator, exact website domain and applicable country. Start with licence verification.
  2. Whether the proposed deposit method also accepts withdrawals, and the permitted alternative if it does not.
  3. The account currency, receiving currency and any conversion quote.
  4. Operator and provider fees, or the specific unanswered fee question.
  5. Transaction limits, payout-routing conditions and required documents.
  6. The stated withdrawal window and the event that starts it.

If the withdrawal route or a material charge remains Unknown, ask for clarification before depositing. Choosing a familiar payment logo is not enough to establish how money can leave the account. Payment convenience also does not establish protection if an operator fails; that is a separate question covered in gambling customer-funds protection.
